Review of Suncoat Natural Nail Polish Remover Gel

Suncoat produces natural nail polish remover in both gel and liquid consistencies. Both forms of Suncoat nail polish remover can be used on either water-based nail polish or regular solvent-based nail polish. I previously reviewed the liquid remover as part of my Review of Suncoat Water Based Nail Polish. Today I am going to share what I like and dislike about the natural nail polish remover in the gel form.

Things I Like about Suncoat Natural Nail Polish Remover Gel:

  • My favorite thing about Suncoat remover gel is the gel consistency. With liquid removers the remover gets all over your fingers and can soak in through your skin. With a remover gel the remover stays in place on the nail plate and only touches the skin around your nails a tiny bit.
  • The remover gel was easy to use. You just squeeze it onto your nails, spread it around, leave it for 5 minutes, and push it off with a cuticle stick. Letting the remover sit on your nails takes a little getting used to, but it is better than scrubbing away at yours nails constantly.

Things I Dislike about Suncoat Natural Nail Polish Remover Gel:

  • I do not like the way that the remover gel smells. It is not as strong as the liquid Suncoat remover, but it is still noticeable. It has a very different smell from regular nail polish remover, but it still irritates my eyes and throat some.
  • The remover gel did not work as well with water-based nail polish that had both a base and top coat applied. It took more than one time applying and removing the gel to completely remove the nail polish. It worked better on water-based nail polish without base or top coat.

How to Get the Best Results with Sucoat Natural Nail Polish Remover Gel:

  • Coat your nails with a generous helping of the gel. The instructions say to use a “dab”. Use a large dab!
  • Leave the remover gel on your nails for at least 5 minutes. Maybe more. The instructions say 2 minutes, but that is not long enough.
  • Instead of using a cotton round to wipe the remover and polish off of your nails, use a wooden cuticle stick to push the polish off your nails.
  • Use the remover in a well ventilated area. Open a window or use it outside.

Have you ever tried Suncoat Natural Nail Polish Remover Gel? What do you think about a nail polish remover in a gel form?
